Week 7

Little Love!

You make me smile so much, thank you for the joy you bring to my life. You have this play mat that has a bunch of hanging toys & rings that you lay under & you love it! There is a stuffed elephant that you talk to whenever you are laying on that mat. I have named her Lucy & the two of you are great friends right now. It is funny to see you interact with her, I can't wait for you to realize that she is not real :) Speaking of friends Bill & Rebecca had their little girl this week! Sweet little Eva Renea was born & we are so excited we have all been waiting to see what they would have since they did not find out ahead of time. I am looking forwarded to seeing you grow up along side Kara, Wesley & Eva it is going to be so much fun.

Talking to Lucy

It was Thanksgiving this week & we go to spend time with both sides of the family. We are lucky that they both live so close together & we can go from one house to the other. It was so nice that you go to meet all of our aunts, uncles & cousins for the first time. They could not get over how cute you are, see its not only me that thinks you are the sweetest thing! You were such a good girl but you refused to take a nap because you did not want to miss anything. Your uncle Josh was the baby whisper he was the only one that could get you to fall asleep. I think it is because he is so tall & when he holds you, you are above all the distractions. It was such a great time for us to reflect on how great God has been to us this past year. I am so very thankful for you & your amazing dad, I can not imagine life without our little family. This past year God had provided, protected, fulfilled & enriched my life more then I can imagine. This verse just makes me smile, Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.1 Chronicles 16:34 YES IT DOES!!

This week we had to take you to the emergency room for the first time & I was so sad. You started having this weird breathing thing where you would take a breath in & make a weird squeak noise. It stated earlier in the day & I just thought it was a new noise you were making or that you were trying to laugh. As the day went on you stated to do it more & more so I stated paying more attention to it. That night when you were tired you were a little fussy & I could tell that when you did it that you were starting to get frustrated by it & that you seemed to have to catch your breath after you did it. So we called the on call nurse since it was around 10:30pm and they said we should bring you to the ER. They were so great with you! Luckily before we left the house we got it on video, because of course by the time we got there you were not doing it any more! The doctor said it could have been that you swallowed something down the wrong tube or that you were getting sick so just to keep an eye on you. Sure enough a few days later you started to get a stuffed nose. You have had that now for like 4 days & you have been such a trooper. You have not had a fever so that is good but it sure does bug you when you are trying to sleep since you love you pacifier so much & it is hard for you to breath out of you nose. We have been giving you drops in your nose & then suctioning them out & you barley cry, you are such a tough little girl. Please get better soon sweetie!!

Lots of love baby girl!

Week 6

Little Girl!

I just feel like every week I think you are growing up so fast & then here I am posting again. It really feels like time is flying by. I enjoy every moment I have with you right now because I will be going back to work before I know it. I have to say that me spending time with you is my number one priority. Housework, laundry, cleaning etc have become second rate right now. I just want to soak up every second of each new stage.

This week I was sad, no more new born diapers! I secretly wanted to save the last one so that I could look back on it & think, look how small you were, but I thought that would be weird. Ok maybe I just knew your daddy would make fun of me later. :) Speaking of dad I just LOVE watching the two of you interact together. He loves you so much & is extremely cute with you. I lay in bed in the morning when he is playing with you & just listen to him talk to you in the other room. He makes you smile so much, you really love your daddy!

You are the biggest poop monster right now! It feels like every time you poop we have to check to make sure you didn't explode everywhere. This week alone you pooped on your dad 3 times. One day in one poop you got his sweatshirt, thru to his shirt & on his favorite sweat pants. He was really sad because they were new & now he says they are not as fuzzy inside because he had to wash them. You think it is really funny when dad changes your diaper & says "You pooped all over me!" you just look up at him & smile. Then his heart melts once again.

You just love looking around outside, you will sit in your swing at the front door & just stare outside until you fall asleep. When we are in the car you just look out the window at everything. I enjoy watching you in the mirror because you just have this sense of wonder on your face that is priceless.

We went with some friends to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter & so of course Grandma came out to watch you. I told her it was fine we could get someone closer to watch you so that she would not have to drive out & take work off the next day but she insisted. I think it was that she had to be the first one to babysit you. Im sure she also like that she got you all to herself for hours & you slept in bed with her until we got home. I only check up on you once while we were gone even thought I wanted to text her every hour. That was the longest I have been away from you it was weird not having you around. I have to admit that it was nice knowing you were with Grandma & that I did not have to worry about you.

I love you so much Hallee. Know that we pray for you often & you are so special to us!

Week 5

Little Girl,

This week was full of a lot of first! You are getting SO big & trying to do so much already, I just can't believe it.

You had your very first bottle this week. At first you did not want to take it so we had to trick you. I had to pretend like I was going to nurse you & then stick to bottle in your mouth. Once you started eating I passed you off to daddy so that he could feed you for the first time. It was sweet to see the two of you have that moment together. Now I just need to let go enough to allow him to get up in the middle of the night & feed you. I just cherish those middle of the night feedings when all is quite & its just the two of us, plus I like dad to get some rest since he has work the next day.

Yum!
Great Grandma Patsy Jane!

You have been using your legs so much more you love standing up on our lap when we are holding you. Your legs & neck are getting so strong, you are such a big girl! When we put you on your belly for tummy time you love trying to scoot using your legs, its really funny to watch. You really love to try to mimic our noises to you. You are talking more everyday, you make the funniest noises & squeaks. You just love your tongue & are constantly sticking it out & rolling it around.

This week we went apple picking with our great friends The McCawley's. It was so much fun to have our first family tradition. We went during the middle of the week so it was not crowded at all so that was pleasant. The only bummer was that it was freezing! We enjoyed a nice warm lunch at one of the little restaurants at Riley's farm & then headed out into the cold. I used mymoby wrap to carry you so that you would stay warm inside all wrapped up. You slept the entire time & seemed nice & cozy in there. We had fun taking some pictures & picking fresh apples. We were there at the end of the season so there was not much to choose from but the ones we got were delicious! Next year I think we will go back a little early for berry picking season...yum!

Picking our first apple

It was your cousin Caleb's 2nd birthday so the entire family went to Disneyland. This was your very first time (outside of the womb) there so that was kind of a big deal for us. You were able to ride your first ride, Peter Pan, it is one of my favorite rides! When we got in line you started to get fussy because it was time to eat but I decided you could wait so that we could ride with everyone. You were crying when we got on the ride but as soon as we got inside you stopped & just stared at all of the lights & stuff going on in the ride. It was so fun to see the ride through your eyes as a child, I can't wait to take you back on there when you can tell me how much you love it! The rest of the day you slept in your stroller but we will for sure be taking you back to enjoy more rides soon.
